We have Come So Far
Hi! It’s Farmer Nathan. As we step into 2024, I wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for your continued support and wish you a Happy New Year. I want to recap the highlights of 2023 and share our exciting plans for the upcoming year regarding cheese, goats, and Italy.
Let’s Rewind to 2023: Goat Tales & More ????
Last year was huge!. We hit a record – 80 kids bottle-fed! Yeah, you heard that right. Our little goat family is thriving, and we’re gearing up for even more cuteness overload this year. Which is hard, because this lot have a fair bit of sassy as well as cute.
With our milking herd, I have made the decision to change their feed. Instead of grabbing pre-made grain mix, I am mixing up a feed to fuel the athletes of the goat world. The result? More milk. I mean, a lot more high quality milk. Plus, happier goats – it’s a win-win. Oh, and I’ve been busy fixing up fences. Mostly to stop goats from escaping. That way my stress levels can come down, but goats are very inventive at finding ways to escape. I’ve also done some work with fences and shelters/carports around the property to improve everyone’s experience while on one of our farm tours.
Looking Forward: Cheese Adventures & Learning Italian! ????????????
I’ve got some exciting stuff planned for 2024. I’m gearing up to create a brand-new cheese – thinking of trying my hand at Gouda. But hey, if you’ve got a favourite type of cheese that you would love for us to make, send us an email. We would love to hear from you.
And, on a personal note, I’ve got a goal this year. Drumroll, please… I’m taking on Italian! I’ve dabbled in it before, but this time, I’m going all in. Shooting for conversational Italian by September. That’s like 2,000 words I need to learn. Let’s see if I can pull it off!
